Rival parties agree to share power

United National Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful and Cooperative Cambodia leader Prince Norodom Ranariddh and Cambodian People's Party leader Hun Sen agreed to share power under an interim government on Jun 18, 1993. The transition to a new government was scheduled to take about three months.

Khmer Rouge actions imperil election
Article Abstract:
The Khmer Rouge will boycott the elections scheduled for May 1993 because it believes it will not be included in the new government. The political party has also broken some of the terms of a United Nation peace accord reached in Oct 1991.
