Russia gets impatient with BHP's hesitancy
Article Abstract:
BHP Petroleum Proprietary Ltd. closed bidding on the sale of one-half of its share of Russia's Prirzlommoye offshore oil project that it is developing with its British subsidiary Hamilton oil and the Russian ol company Rosshelf. BHP Petroleum allegedly has spent $550 million on the project so far. The Russians are irritated by BHP Petroleum's go-slow attitude, and it may lose its rights to Prirzlommoye which would endanger sister company BHP Mineral's bid to develop a diamond mine.

Why Russia wants Australia's meat
Article Abstract:
The Russian government, consumer organizations, and meat producers are criticizing European meat importers, alleging they minimize import duty to sell at a lower price. This gives Australian beef and pork exporters the opportunity of exporting to Russia as much as $US100 mil worth of meat. American exporters are also criticized because they use the same system of illegal codes and price measures.
