Gaidar becomes Yeltsin advisor

Russian Pres Yeltsin approved a new cabinet on Dec 23, 1992, that included most of the economic-reform team of former Acting Premier Gaidar. Gaidar was named an advisor to Yeltsin. Yeltsin permitted Gaidar's successor, Viktor Chernomyrdin to form the cabinet.

Russian President Yeltsin survives impeachment vote
Article Abstract:
The Congress of People's Deputies voted not to impeach Pres Yeltsin, but it did dispute his authority in Mar 1993. Six-hundred-and-eighty-nine votes were needed to impeach Yeltsin, but only 617 deputies voted for impeachment.
