Lawrence says the remarks he made during a Nov 1994, meeting linking genetics to the poor performance of minority students on SAT exams does not reflect his real views. Students had staged protests against the remarks in Feb 1995, but the school's governing board expressed support for Lawrence.

Macedonia: president injured by car bomb

Article Abstract:

On Oct 3, 1995 Gligorov was seriously injured when a car in which he was riding exploded near Skopje. He was returning from Belgrade, Yugoslavia after meeting Serbian Pres Slobodan Milosevic. Planned talks with Greece over the use of the name Macedonia, will take place as scheduled.
