SAP prepares to meet the needs of the 'never-satisfied customer'

German company SAP AG is planning to challenge the leaders of the computer software industry in the first years of the second millenium. In 1997, SAP's revenue increased 62% to $3.5 billion. It is fourth in the software industry for size. In addition to year 2000 computer compliance problems, SAP anticipates similar disorders on January 1, 1999. It will begin distribution of its Release 4.5 software application in September 1998.

Australia's Future School has achieved remarkable success, despite competition from much larger firms, exporting educational software to areas ranging from Asia to the Caribbean. The New South Wales-based company's 1997 export revenues totaled $1.7 million. Future School's primary products are interactive math and English educational programs. The UDE has multi-media applications in medical systems that incorporate voice, 3D vector graphics, x-rays, and video.
