Schoolsnet, based in Melbourne, Australia, was started in 1994 by Dan Ingvarson to develop educational software and provide schools with access to the World Wide Web. The staff worked extremely long hours, with the help of three teachers whose salaries were supplemented by the Board of Education. The company finally achieved revenue greater than expenses in 1998, and further growth seems assured.
