Sex, lies and videotropes: narrative and commitment in high technology teams
Article Abstract:
Narratives can play an important role in human resource management, particularly in the culture and self-identity of teams. To to better illustrate this role, the narrative element of organizational discourse concerning high technology use at Reuters and Health Care International were examined. Narratives were seen to function as a management tool for explaining concepts pertaining to high technology. In addition, stories and storytelling also served to enhance communication among members of the team.

Assessing the contribution of the Shell Technology Enterprise Programme to SMEs in the UK
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate the contribution of the 1994 Shell Technology Enterprise Program (STEP) that supplemented the employment of students in small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated by analyzing the responses of STEP businesses with those of independent companies. Results indicated that the program supported business needs and the employment of students in a number of industries.
