Small equity markets get glimpse of deja vu
Article Abstract:
Australia's federal government is interested in funding alternative stock exchanges rather than additional equity matchmakers for growth capital for small to medium business enterprises. The equity matchmakers, or private investors, have had mediocre results for the small to medium enterprises they have invested in. The money in these new stock exchanges in regional areas would be for feasibility studies.

The Heyday Group has capitalized on its client base from being a electrical contractor to sell new services. When the building industry slumped in the early 1990s Tony Borg, the founder, started Australian Computer Cabling. Now Borg and Felix Bigeni are also into fire-alarms and facility management. Their focus on customer service and client satisfaction has helped them grow.
