Hunter Hall Investment Management's managing director Peter Hall is advising investors to sell any securities that are currently overvalued. This is the time to reinforce cash position and be prepared for the next opportunity to invest in bargain stocks. Hall commands respect for his financial strategies because of the success of the Hunter Hall Value Growth Trust. The A$40 million fund provided a return of 18.32% since July 1997.

Mercantile Mutual tops the field in investment success

Mercantile Mutual Investment Management is one of Australia's most successful investment companies. In 1997, it lost its Australian equities head, Greg Matthews, who played a large part in its growth. Between March 1997 and March 1998, Mercantile Mutual earned $1.07 billion more than it spent. The company uses computer programs to determine the best prices and growth rates.
