Contract selection delayed
Article Abstract:
AMR and Media, PA-based Keystone Quality Transport are vying for the contract to provide ambulance service to Wilmington, DE. AMR, based in 2506 W. Sixth Street in Wilmington, has been the city's ambulance service provider since 1980 and has the existing three-year contract that will end on Dec. 1, 1998. In October 1998, Fire Chief James Wilmore tentatively agreed to award the new contract to Keystone Quality. But the proposal to hand out the new contract to a new ambulance service provider has been delayed because Wilmore cannot provide City Council members an answer with regards to the length of time it would take their drivers to respond to emergency calls.
