States can tax interstate bus routes
Article Abstract:
The Supreme Court ruled that states can tax bus tickets just as long a trip begins in that state. Other Supreme Court cases involving copyright infringement, provisions of the federal bankruptcy code, Agent Orange, air crash victim survivors and firearm law are described.

'Baby Richard' appeal denied

The Supreme Court upheld an Illinois court decision that required that an adopted child, dubbed 'Baby Richard,' be given to his biological father by a vote of 7-2. Attorneys hope to schedule a hearing to determine which home would better suit the child's interests.

Supreme Court strikes down school-zone gun ban; interstate commerce link rejected

The Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1990 was ruled unconstitutional because Congress overstepped its jurisdiction by basing the law on interstate commerce measures. The ruling in U.S. v. Lopez was 5-4, and dissenters believed further challenges to laws could result.
