Technical difficulties
Article Abstract:
Australian government's attempts to solve the technical skills shortage in the country is getting more complicated. The government is trying to establish technical colleges in accordance with its promise in 2004 elections. However, when the Western Sydney Australian Technical College applied for plumbing apprenticeship training contract to New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission, the Communication, Electrical and Plumbers Union opposed it. Employers too are not in favor of such training.
