Tektronix's Push to Get Back on the Fast-Growth Track
Article Abstract:
The increasing competition in the digital test equipment, called computer-aided engineering (CAE) work stations, market casts a shadow over the anticipated success of Tektronix Inc.'s late market entries. The CAE market is expected to reach nearly two billion dollars by 1988. Tektronix's tradition of entering emerging markets late is discussed. Its efforts to develop CAE software are described. Tektronix's CAE products are well received by its users. Reasons why several employees, involved in CAE development, have left Tektronix are discussed. A photograph of Tektronix vice president J. Reed is included.
