Hercules Computer Technology specializes in graphics boards for International Business Machines' (IBM) personal computer (PC). The product allows the user to draw graphs and charts on an IBM PC. The company was founded in 1982 by two young men, Kevin Jenkins and Van Suwannukul. In 1984 sales reached thirty million dollars with profits which were better than forty percent pretax. Currently Hercules holds half of the retail graphics board market, but faces new competition from IBM, AST Research, and a dozen other marketers. A photograph of Jenkins is included.

A woman recounts her experiences working at her uncle's shirt factory during World War II. She says that during the war, the factory began making shirts for the government which left no scraps for her to bring home to make quilts. However, she had access to all the scraps she wanted when the war ended.

Fashionable and inexpensive sun visors have been introduced during the last couple of years, offering bigger profits for waterparks and sun protection for guests. The new styles are lighter in weight, made of cardboard and covered in fabric.
