Testing time for Tower

James Boonzaier, the chief executive of New Zealand's insurance company Tower Corp., announced in August 1999 the company's plans to demutualize and list on the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges. The prospectus indicates a share value of $4.66 to $5.47. Tower also plans to raise $280 million by issuing about 50 million new shares to private and institutional investors in New Zealand and Australia. Boonzaier plans to maintain growth in Australia and New Zealand and to seek opportunities in Asia.
