The US textile industry has been having a tough market since the onset of the Asian economic crisis of the 1990s and the slowing of the US economy in 2000 and 2001. However, alternative strategies of long-term survival are being developed by several companies. These stocks are not timely in 2001 and suitable mainly for investors who are able to tolerate risk.

Many companies have shifted much of their operations, and many that are based in the US have become more efficient and competitive. However, most investors must show caution when making selections in this industry.
