Textile industry
Article Abstract:
The Asian financial crisis of the late 1990's has caused the textile industry to suffer a major economic downturn, but a recovery is expected and the home furnishings segment has remained competitive. Textile mills should also see savings when current cotton contracts expire and new contracts are negotiated, as cotton accounts for about 60% of apparel and home furnishings textiles. Few of these stocks are timely in the second half of 1999, but several have price appreciation potential over the next three to five years.
