The Development of Corporate Charitable Contributions in the UK: A Stakeholder Analysis
Article Abstract:
Research on more than 400 companies in the United Kingdom illustrates the growing impact of stakeholders and public image on corporate charitable contributions. While donations made between 1989 to 1990 were largely determined by profit levels, those made between 1998 to 1999 show the influence of factors such as social and environmental responsibility.

Research on 135 organizations in London and Southeast England shows that the first-line manager role is comprised of a common performance-emphasizing supervisory core to which are added additional managerial tasks and responsibilities regarding unit management, stewardship, and translating strategy into processes and operations.
