The Right Approach to Redundancy
Article Abstract:
Informing an exective that he is redundant can be a psychologically difficult job for the employer and the employee. Advice to employers is offered. Many factors must be considered by an employer if he hopes to minimize the damage to an employee's morale, self-esteem and rehabilitation. If employers are seriously concerned in helping an employee find another position he should offer his help. If an executive is redundant even because he is not as good as someone else, another person should probably be present. The employee's contributions should always be stressed. When a good employee becomes redundant he must understand that he has no reason for guilt or feelings of inadequacy.

No 'Hobby-Shop' Selling Approach
Article Abstract:
Minicomputer companies were complacent until cheaper microcomputer systems costing approximately $6,000 began assuming data management functions. The advent of CP-M and a professional attitude helped establish the micro's position on the market. However, to match the capabilities of minicomputer systems costing $60,000 to $100,000, a micro system will cost at least $20,000 including software support. Durango feels this kind of system requires professional, not 'hobby-shop' marketing.
