The abusive organization
Article Abstract:
Abusive organizations are those which expect employees to prioritize work over family life. These organizations have been proliferating due to pressure from increasing competition. Various management strategies such as downsizing, rightsizing and reengineering have resulted to a lesser number of employees expected to do all the work. Some offer work-family programs which are, ironically, promoted only for public relations. It was expressed that these organizations should lose to competitors with concern for their employees.
