The domino effect hits
Article Abstract:
The Australian economy has been hard hit by the Asian financial crisis, which began in Oct. 1997. The Australian dollar fell to U.S.$.70, and is expected to fall at least three more cents. Efforts at economic improvement could be hampered by resistance to structural reforms initiated by the International Monetary Fund, and by additional foreign investor defections from the Hong Kong stock market.
