The educated entrepreneurs: a new era of entrepreneurial education is beginning
Article Abstract:
New knowledge of the entrepreneurial process is changing entrepreneurship education. Entrepreneurship is now viewed as a career process, most likely a progression of ventures, where many configurations for a venture are possible and where the scarce factor is time. The number of business schools offering entrepreneurship courses tripled in 1980 from the 100 in 1970. Five factors which must be considered when setting up an entrepreneurship education program are listed. After a program is established, tight control must be maintained to avoid subject duplication, reading assignments adhered to, program awareness created, and outreach programs between entrepreneurs and students developed.
