The go-between
Article Abstract:
Tripac International (Australia) outsorced its entire work force, boosting its profits and angering a manufacturing union. Tripac outsourced its motor vehicle air-conditioning workers through EL Blue, a staff-leasing firm that effectively serves as Tripac's personnel department. The workers are employed by EL Blue. In the five months to June 30, 1999, Tripac's factory allegedly made a $500,000 profit. In 1997-98, Tripac lost $1 million.
