The music industry, off its high, is singing those old falling-revenue blues

The Australian music industry is experiencing declining revenues after racking up a record A$568.2 million in 1996. Revenues declined by 2.5%to A$554.2 million in 1997 as units sold declined to 49.5 million from 51.5 million in 1996, a decline of 3.9%. The Australian Record Industry Assn forecasts that the industry's revenues will be decimated by Copyright Act changes that will boost imports of sound recordings.
