The role of innovation characteristics and perceived voluntariness in the acceptance of information technologies
Article Abstract:
Users' acceptance behavior determines the rate of return and productivity gains in firms' information technology investment. Acceptance behavior can also be explained in terms of innovation characteristics, including compatibility, trialability, voluntariness and visibility. A working environment that tolerates playful behaviour as well as having the willingness to experience short-term loss could also help in encouraging individuals to experiment with new technologies.
