The structure-performance relationship in a transitional economy: an empirical study of multinational alliances in China
Article Abstract:
The advent of international strategic alliances (ISAs) in China proved influential in shaping the country's economic performance in the early 1990s. Theoretical results indicate that these structural variables did not only alter the performance of major local industries but create substantial impact on a number of alliance performances in China as well. It was further shown that an increase in the number of industry players in a particular sector tends to promote market growth and accounting returns.
