Managers facing a crisis can survive such a trying period and emerge with a newly reorganized company through a process called the 'workout.' Several useful techniques are offered to these beleaguered managers. Among these techniques are hiring a crisis manager who will lead the company through six stages. These six stages are diagnosing the crisis, mitigating the crisis, generating cash and preparing, negotiating and implementing a turnaround plan.
