The world is still a pretty scary place for Apple
Article Abstract:
Microsoft's investment in Apple has breathed fresh life into the computer company but the fundamental problems with the company still remain. Apple needs to find a way to convince customers who do not already own Macintosh computers to purchase one. The company also needs to discover a way to distinguish itself technically from other software makers. Microsoft's Windows now comes standard with all the features that set Apple's operating system apart originally. The public's favorable reaction to the deal is expected to buy Apple some time and the additions to the board are expected to provide the company with some much needed good advice. One proviso is that the combination of new board members Larry Ellison of Oracle and Bill Gates of Microsoft could create problems.
