Science needs potent PR formula
Article Abstract:
The general public is, on one hand, fascinated by science, but on the other hand knows little about the vocation and views it with fear or indifference. Children do not yearn to be scientists. Government agencies provide little educational funding or information about general science. Scientists are often unfairly portrayed as nerds or evil geniuses. Science has many positive role models, and the industry as a whole needs a public relations facelift.
