Thinking about the technology future
Article Abstract:
Companies that invest considerably on scientific research are more likely to increase their competitiveness in the global market. It is important that they provide creative stimuli to their work force and determine which field of science promises opportunities for technological innovations. For instance, materials science, quantum physics and molecular biology are increasingly becoming important to industries. Companies should enhance their meta-skills to be more competitive.

A changing view of factory labor
Article Abstract:
Industrial management in Great Britain is being overhauled, and as a result, British factories are becoming more competitive. Work measurement systems in factories are being changed. Managerial control of the workforce and factory measurement are being replaced by technical controls. A focus on overall output is replacing attempts to control the worker's time. A case study of new methods for improving productivity is presented.
