Article Abstract:
Companies that provide the service of computer analyzed econometric models and time-sharing access to their database found that their business was trailing off because of the personal computer. Most of these companies have developed software programs to sell to their clients for use with their personal computers. Data Resources, Inc. has a software package called Econ-PC. Wharton Econometric Forecasting Assoc. has a $15,000 PC-Mark 7 and software which is a 250 equation model including such economic indicators as unemployment, interest rates, and inflation. Chase Econometrics has a $5,000 package called PC PLANR which includes statistical modeling, word processing, graphics and a spreadsheet. A drawing is included.

Article Abstract:
The balance between our jobs and our personal lives is being affected by computers and other innovations. At the current rate of expansion, computers will soon be a part of every aspect of our lives. As many as forty-five per cent of existing jobs will be changed by technological innovations. Many workers will face reassignment necessitating more complex technologies. Many productive activities will move into the home and neighborhood from institutional settings.
