Jackson Press, an instant printer with a large turnover, was too eager to grow and, even after its merger with Pink Panther in February 1997 to create Current Knowledge Print Group, the company was flat financially at $28 million turnover. Founder Michael Jackson made the mistake of concentrating on large clients (80% of revenue) and letting go of smaller ones. Jackson lost $1 million in revenue in one year. In July 1998, Current Knowledge's investment in technology started to pay off. Current's turnover was $32 million in June 1999.

Tax take soars

The report released by the Business Council of Australia (BCA) says that the rate of corporate taxation is more than the rate of growth of corporate profits. BCA argues that the corporate tax should be lowered. Various opinions on whether the corporate tax should be reduced is presented.
