In the last three months of 2000, high-end housing prices reached record levels in Australia, showing that the market had recovered from the Sydney Olympics and a goods and services tax, both of which had affected the national property market negatively. A Melbourne estate agent sold a record-breaking 25 properties for over $AS1 million.
