Top priority management concerns about new product development
Article Abstract:
The problems encountered by executives in new product development among firms with innovative technology are examined. Three surveys on technology management were sent to academics and management practitioners and the important problems confronted were ranked according to importance. Among the major problems are strategic planning, project selection, organizational learning about technology and technology core competencies. The problems provide a basis for discussion among executives on product development issues which they encounter in their firms.
