Toward an understanding of the factors affecting the quality of the audit process
Article Abstract:
The factors auditors perceive as having significant impact on their ability to achieve a desired level of audit quality are analyzed. Furthermore, a set of measures that monitor the potential effect of these factors on the audit process is developed. Testing of the factors and measures requires implementation on multiple audit engagements to provide necessary data for analysis. Lastly, the use of the nominal group techniques in developing quality measures can be extended to other service sector areas.
