UAW calls GM relations rocky; can't rule out possible walkouts
Article Abstract:
Tensions remain high between GM and UAW officials a month after the strike's end. Union complaints at GM's Saturn plant include shrinking bonuses, reduced worker involvement in decisions, and integration of Saturn into GM's small car division. At GM's Wisconsin sport-utility-vehicle factory, negotiations involve such potential strike issues as safety standards and subcontracting. Union officials are also unhappy about the recent announcement that parts maker Delphi Automotive Systems will be made independent.
