UK's Sinclair Gives More PC Storage
Article Abstract:
The Quantum Leap (QL) from United Kingdom's Sinclair Research is a 32-bit personal computer costing only 399 pounds. Sinclair provides internal memory expandable from 128 kilobytes to 640 kilobytes. The QL employs two self-windowing 100k tape cartridge drives, slower and with less storage capacity than disk drives. However, the large capacity RAM can hold the four applications programs, allowing data to be exchanged between them with the power of a 32-bit computer. The QL will be introduced in the United States in 1984.
