U.S. House votes to pass Medicare overhaul
Article Abstract:
Legislation seeking to revamp Medicare has been approved by the House on Oct. 19, 1995. Under the bill, some $270 billion in savings will be realized from a projected budget over a seven-year period. It is the biggest and most contentious part of Congress' plan to balance the federal budget.
