U.S. to airlift food, medicine to ex-Soviet states

The US will begin airlifting emergency shipments of food and medicine to the Commonwealth of Independent States in Feb 1992. The announcement of the air shipments came during a conference of aid donors attended by 47 nations and five institutions.
