Most Australian chief information officers appear confident that their businesses are prepared for the Year 2000 computer transition and that no major problems will occur, according to a September 1999 survey. However, 400 of the 989 respondents indicated that Y2K was like planning for a natural disaster, and they would have about a week's worth of cash and food ready should a major catastrophe take place.
