Cost Variation Study of Reparable Items
Article Abstract:
Results of a study to develop indices for use in price redetermination are presented. The indices are to be used while budgets are built for reparable items. Price changes would be reflected for all reasons, not just inflation. An existing price redetermination process and inflation indices are reviewed in order to reveal the inadequacy of the indices. The indices developed in the study are calculated using existing reparable items. The computation methodology is described and illustrated. The impact of the indices on the budget and on weapon system capability is assessed.
