WorldCom earnings meet expectations, but stock falls as revenue disappoints

WorldCom Inc.'s third-quarter earnings met expectations, but its shares fell 14% on reports of revenue that was lower than expected. The company confirmed that it will restructure soon. It is also expected to issue a tracking stock for its businesses that have slower growth. The stock will probably have the 'MCI' name, and may comprise the firm's long-distance, Internet dial-up and wholesale concerns.
