Yeltsin's compromise man dithers on reform
Article Abstract:
Russia's movement towards economic reforms are being led by its prime minister Yevgeny Primakov. Primakov can be criticized for his poor handling of the media concerning his ascent to his position and for his failure to investigate Russia's Central Bank or endorse recent economic legislation vetoed by President Yeltsin and other executives. Primakov's efforts to promote democracy have been sluggish, and he is behaving much as his predecessors did.
