European airlines are trying to attract business travellers by offering lower business class fares. British Midland is leading the way by offering fares up to 40% less than their competitors. The service has less of the frills European business travellers are used to.

Branson wants to expand Virgin Atlantic Airways just a little and and more variety in classes of seats. He feels his Upper Class and Middle Class seats will appeal to the business traveller and the economy traveler looking for better services.
