Research reveals that high levels of homocysteine in the blood can raise the risk of heart disease. Dr Kilmer S McCully recommends patients with family history of cardiovascular disorders to undergo homocysteine checks and consume 400mcg of folic acid daily and 3mg of Vitamin B6. Fresh vegetables, fruits and grains are also recommended.
