A great parliamentarian
Article Abstract:
Tony Benn is a British politician from the Labor Party, and he is seen as the party's conscience by some of its supporters on the political left. Critics argue that the party's 1983 manifesto, which Benn backed, was not a good document to fight and election, and they point to workers' co-ops that he helped to establish which did not succeed. Benn's policies differ from those of the party leadership, which has moved to the political right, and many voters appear to disagree with Benn on a number of issues.
