A material which inspires designers
Article Abstract:
Designers often use steel and glass as a way of getting down to the bare materials of their creativity. High tech buildings are mainly constructed of steel therefore designers are incorporating it in a more visual capacity. Its durability, flexibility and strength mean it is an ideal material to build with, and results often look better than with traditional materials. Many designers have built their own houses in steel and they see the trend growing as the demand for buildings to become more ecological and economical increases.

Saving your legal bacon
Article Abstract:
Alec Milton, who specialises in document management at Arup, emphasises how important it is for architectural practices to archive all of their e-mails, and to make sure that the archived data is safe. E-mail messages may contain important instructions and material, so it is important to keep them in case of future legal recourse.
