Central bankers include Federal Reserve head, Alan Greenspan, who is a musician as well as an economist, and who has been seen as the best chairman of the Federal Reserve in its history. Bank of Japan's Masaru Hayami is a year older, at 74-years-old and is the world's oldest central bank governor. European Central Bank president, Wim Duisenberg, is 64-years-old. Central bank pay varies, with the Bank of Italy offering high pay to its head, more than is earned by the Federal Reserve chairman.

Fritz Leutwiler
Article Abstract:
Leutwiler headed the Swiss National Bank and the Bank for International Settlements for many years, and he was instrumental in the financial bailout of Mexico. He also served as chairman of Brown Boveri before retiring. His hobbies included golf and collecting rare books.
