A motorway and what else
Article Abstract:
Housing & Construction (HC) (Israel), investor company, should start to build the motorway D 47 from Lipnik-nad-Becvou to Ostrava, Czech Republic, in the spring of 2002. According to HC, the worth of the motorway with a length of 60 km will be CEK 39.702 bil. According to the state, the costs were to be CEK 62.161 bil. HC's sum does not include expenditures on the construction of the section Rudna-Hrusov worth CEK 10.6 bil. The motorway D 47 should be commissioned at the end of 2006. The construction of the motorway with the help of private capital is a hope for the Czech government, which wants to solve a lack of finances for the construction of the motorway network in the Czech Republic. According to an estimate of the the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, the costs on the completion of the motorway network and high-speed roads in the Czech Republic should be CEK 350 bil for the next 30 years. The state should invest about CEK 20 bil for the purpose every year, which is unreal under the deficit economy of the state budget.

IPS (Prague, Czech Republic), construction group, is in the process of permanent restructuring. The firm's costs on overhead employees must not exceed 2% of its turnover. The average staff of the group IPS' was 7,608 in 2000 compared to 8,529 persons in 1999. The group has had a 90% majority stake held by the construction concern Skanska (Sweden) since 2000. The group associates Zeleznicni stavitelstvi (Prague, Czech Republic) and Dopravni stavby holding (Czech Republic). About 50% of the group's turnover is ensured by the parent firm IPS, 25% by DSH and 12.5% by ZS. The rest of the group's turnover is ensured by subsidiaries including Doprava Betonu, Prefa.

CSOB will become a partner of IPS
Article Abstract:
IPS (Prague, Czech Republic), construction company, will utilize the financial services of the bank CSOB (Prague, Czech Republic) from 2001. CSOB has won the contract in a tender. The total worth of the contract, which regards a complex of bank services, will be CEK 3.2 bil. IPS is a part of the construction concern Skanska (Sweden).
