The innovations require qualities such as service skills, interactivity, market awareness, orientation, and other tangibles such as trust, knowledge for improving regional productivity and international competitiveness.

Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC) has developed a six-point plan to revitalize the salmon fishing in the area. However, the recent fall in the prices of salmon coupled with the high charges being levied for catches is keeping the fishermen away. The BBEDC's six-points are listed.
